Children & Church Sunday School may have finished for the summer, but that does not mean that families shouldn't be in Church. Through the Summer Fr Andrew and Fr Robin will be helping the younger members of our congregation learn about our faith and what we do in Church. Make sure you're in Church Sunday by Sunday! We will do our best to ensure children are catered for and enjoy being part of the worship. |

Keith Florence's Retirement After a career spanning some 39 years at Christchurch School Mr Florence's Retirement is now upon us! On Wednesday the 18th July the School Mass was augmented by Priests, parents, former pupils, and a brass quartet. It was a splendid occasion and a fitting celebration of his work. In the evening the school hosted a party for him, with some three hundred people in attendence. Speeches were made on behalf of the governors, the staff, parents, the local education authority, and the Church. Presentations were also made, which included a watercolour of the school, and a gift from parents. |

The Assumption of Our Lady - 15th August On the 15th of August the Church celebrates the assumption, or taking up, of Our Lady to heaven. Christians believe that Mary was taken up to heaven both as a symbol of her critical role in the plan of salvation, but also as a pointer to the life to which God calls us. We will be celebrating the Assumption at Christ the Saviour by inviting other Churches to join us for the evening Mass, and by some special music which should be well worth hearing. The Assumption is a day 'of obligation', a day which we should all, unless positively inhibited, attend Mass. There will be Masses at 12.30pm and a sung Mass at 7.30pm. |
